Sarah and Jason Eloped!

Last year my husband and I attended one of the Goat Lady Dairy’s amazing dinners.  The food was unbelievably good, but our favorite part of the evening was eating with Sarah and Jason, who were so generous that they shared their bottle of wine with us.  We spent the evening laughing and talking, and driving home Phil and I kept saying how glad we were to have met such a fun couple.  When Sarah called me this year to tell me that she and Jason were eloping on Leap Day, I was so, so excited for them.  And when she asked me to photograph a portrait session for them immediately afterward, I felt honored and humbled to be a part of their day.  Seeing them again was enormous fun, and I especially loved the bright blue chevy we were lucky enough to have as a backdrop.

Thank you both for trusting me to photograph such an important event.  I loved being a part of your wedding day!

Cari!

When Jason and I decided to make our wedding just about us, we knew we wanted someone who could capture us being ourselves. We had such great luck that day, especially when the clouds broke for a perfect sunset. I could have not asked for anything more for our wedding day. Thank you for helping make our day so much more special. I know our friends and family are looking forward to seeing more of your images. Thanks!

Bridal Portraits at Starlight Meadows

This week I’ve been posting images from a portrait session at Starlight Meadows in Burlington, NC.  Several other artists and myself met on a gorgeous, but windy, day last autumn to see what we would create together.  Carla White, our fabulous hair and make-up artist, was the genius behind both soft, vintage looks.  Our model, Leah Pack, was amazingly willing to do whatever we had in mind that day, which included placing her on a semi-tame horse.  And I’m incredibly grateful for her patience with the cold and a large, jumpy animal, because I’m in love with the photos from that day.

Beautiful set! I really love the warm, classic feel of these.

Leah at Starlight Meadows {North Carolina Portraits}

Professional photographers are fortunate to have no shortage of images to use on their websites and in their advertising.  However, it’s more difficult for many other vendors, simply because photography isn’t what they do.  So a few times a year, I get together with other wedding professionals to help them show off their venues, dresses, and other skills and talents.  Last autumn, we planned an all-day session at Starlight Meadows in Burlington, NC just for this purpose.  Leah Pack was our lovely model, who tirelessly and cheerfully accepted my directions, even daring to get onto a horse in a wedding dress – those images to be revealed later this week.  Carla White, our amazing hair and make-up artist, created this look complete with vintage jewelry from Preen.  And I did my best to capture it all with my lens, having a wonderful time in the process.  Because to be honest, this is my idea of a fun day.

And while I love the images here, I can’t wait to show you how gorgeous Leah looked in the wedding gown.  Besides, I just adore a bride on a horse.  Until then.
