Ashlee and John {Wake Forest Wedding Photography}

Ashlee and John are two of the sweetest, most laid-back people I know.  Their engagement session was beyond fun, as we ran around downtown Raleigh playing in the fountains and laying under trees.  And so I knew that their wedding at the Sutherland in Wake Forest was going to be an amazing event, filled with laughter and dancing.  However, I had no idea just how amazing it was actually going to be.  From her Vera Wang gown to her Jimmy Choo heels, Ashlee’s attire was fabulous and perfectly elegant.  And her wedding coordinator, Shawn, from Your Special Day Weddings and Events, made sure every last detail was absolutely perfect.  The tent, the lighting, the flowers — it was all flawless and completely breath-taking.  And yet, still nothing outshone how beautiful Ashlee looked, or the wonderfully sweet way that she and John are together.  It was the perfect day, and I was incredibly honored to have been trusted to capture it.

Ashley and Tim {High Point Wedding Photography}

Ashley and Tim wanted their wedding at J.H. Adams Inn in High Point to be a beautiful event spent with family and friends.  Ashley spent months planning the perfect day, down to the last detail.  But what really made the day amazing were the moments that weren’t planned. My personal favorites were the guys walking into the reception wearing Krispy Kreme hats, the time that Ashley and Tim took for a private dance on the patio steps, and the look on Tim’s face when he saw his future wife walking down the aisle.  Those are the moments that make a wedding extraordinary, and they’re the ones I hope they remember for years to come.

Carrie, Jazzy, and Drake {Burlington Pet Photography}

Last week, I headed to Burlington for a little play time with Carrie, Drake, and Jazzy.  It was a gorgeous day for chasing and running, and Jazzy and Drake were ready to go.  It’s amazing how much joy dogs get from a little squeaky toy and the space to romp.  It reminds me to spend less time working and more time enjoying this wonderful life.

Jen and George {Winston Salem Wedding Photography}

Jen and George were my first wedding of the year, and what a wedding it was!  Their ceremony was an intimate affair in the chapel of Centenary Church in Winston Salem, followed by a reception at the Piedmont Club.  My favorite part?  The reception was a hot-air balloon themed event.  Actually, scratch that.  My favorite part was getting to hang out with an amazingly fun couple and having the honor of photographing such a sweet and wonderful relationship as it turns into a life-long commitment.  I love seeing the way Jen and George look at each other and laugh together.  They are the exact reason that I cherish my job as much as I do.  Thank you both for trusting me to capture such an important day.  I can’t wait to see you both again!

Allison and Finley {Raleigh Portrait Photography}

I met Allison and Finley on a beautiful afternoon for an informal portrait session at Carrigan Farms in Mooresville. Finley’s still a puppy, and he was in quite a playful mood.  With his furry little face and Allison’s gorgeous eyes and smile, my job was easy and fun.  We couldn’t have picked a better day, and I loved seeing Allison again, as well as meeting Finley.
